In the current issue 2/2026 of the German PROZESSWÄRME, we are featured with two insightful articles addressing key modern topics in industrial heat treatment.

In the field of predictive maintenance, the article
“AICHELIN focuses on proactive maintenance”
explores planned maintenance strategies for efficient plant operation:
Unplanned downtime caused by disruptions in heat treatment systems has significant negative impacts on production and profitability - an issue many companies are familiar with. A structured annual maintenance concept enables planned service, reduces unexpected downtime, and ensures stable as well as cost-efficient plant operation.

The second article focuses on digitalization. Titled
“Cyber Resilience Act: Cybersecurity for industrial heat treatment”,
it analyzes the requirements of the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) in the context of digitally connected heat treatment systems:
Digitalization is fundamentally transforming the heat treatment industry. Modern systems are increasingly connected to digital platforms that collect and analyze process data, as well as monitor and control production processes. With the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the European Union is establishing, for the first time, a binding framework for the cybersecurity of digital products, defining requirements for the development, operation, and maintenance of industrial platforms.
