Tenderness Capacity in Portugal Expands Production with an AICHELIN Chamber Tempering Furnace
With the successful completion of this project, Aichelin has further strengthened its long-standing partnership with Tenderness Capacity, a Portuguese heat treatment specialist based in Águeda. As part of the project, the company’s existing Aichelin chamber furnace line was expanded with a state-of-the-art VKHLE 4/2 70/85/130 tempering furnace. The system has been operating successfully and reliably since May 2026.
Expansion of a proven Aichelin furnace line
Tenderness has relied on Aichelin technology at its modern, large-scale commercial heat treatment facility since 2017. The existing chamber furnace line has now been strategically expanded to provide additional tempering capacity and increase production flexibility.
The new tempering furnace is designed for load weights of up to 1,000 kg and reaches temperatures of up to 500°C. In addition to the furnace system, the scope of supply included the complete electrical and control system as well as an upgrade of the existing process control system to the latest version FOCOS 4.0. Another key feature is the furnace system’s intuitive operation via an HMI touchscreen.
As a result, the customer benefits from the latest system control capabilities and a future-ready software platform designed for long-term use.
